Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful Team Builder Award

Each year, Keep Oklahoma Beautiful encourages organizations across the state to compete in their Environmental Excellence Award Program.  The 2020 Team Builders Award went to Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful’s Pollinator/Monarch Garden.  Team members included Chris Ohler, City Horticulturalist who designed the garden & led his team in installation.  Sanders Nursery donated all the plants.  Artist Ron Brancato donated his “Life Cycle of the Monarch.”  Marcie Hawkins Educator for Tulsa Urban Coalition provided research. Team leader was Beverly Forester.  Special thank you to Michael Spurgeon, City Manager and Matthew Hendren, Head of City Parks for their support in this project.

We are very honored to receive this award and very grateful to Keep Oklahoma Beautiful for helping to make this garden a reality. Our pollinators and monarchs need our help.  The garden will be an educational site where we can encourage others to plant their own pollinator/monarch garden.
