We are so excited to announce that 9-year-old Olivia Maclin of Baking a Difference with Olivia will be at the Rose Festival on Saturday, October 1st between 10 am and 12 pm.  She will be passing out her wonderful baked cookies for free.  These will go fast, so be sure to stop by and see her!

We have been so touched by her mission and are honored that she has chosen to partner with us this year.  This is what Olivia wants you to know about Baking a Difference with Olivia:

Baking a difference with Olivia is dear to my heart because I may only be 9 years old but I am very aware that so many people are struggling in the world and my hometown of Tulsa and that something as simple as a homemade chocolate chip cookie or warm brownies can bring a smile to anyone’s face. When I “bake a difference” my favorite part about doing this is knowing that I may be helping someone who is having a hard day feel better. The other week I baked at the Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa and made 5 pans of brownies. As I was setting them out in the kitchen for the families who live there, I watched a Dad come by the kitchen who was touring the facility for his child who is in the hospital, the weight of the world was on his shoulders and he saw me bring out the warm brownies and smiled at me and he took one saying, “thank you so much for this” Who knows, maybe because of that one simple act his day got just a little bit brighter. Did you know that studies show that eating a homemade warm chocolate chip cookie takes most adults back to a happier time in life like childhood, I want to promote how baking and cooking are truly good for the soul of any person at any age.” -Olivia Maclin

Thank you, Olivia, for all you do for the community!  You inspire us to be better people.  You have certainly made our day a little bit brighter and put a smile on our faces!  We can’t wait to spend the day at the Rose Festival with you!
